Head Under Water x Marco Selvaggio – Air

Lockdown Collaboration Featuring The Rarest European Instrument

Being stuck in lockdown in Italy and Germany respectively, both Artists got to know each other through the shared love for the very rare Hang instrument in the context of electronic music. Linked through video calls, the recordings of Marco Selvaggios inspiring Hang playing became the basis for Head Under Water to craft a song about the difficult time in a relationship that is spent healing old wounds in order to move forward.

Head Under Water

A songwriter wandering electronic worlds. Spherical beats under a crystal-like vocal architecture cutting through the clouds, Head Under Water is a calm presence, drifting between light and dark, and an invitation to get lost in the subtle nuances in between.

Dealing with the memories that stick with us. A collage of melancholy and meaning, crafted into song.

Head Under Water’s inspirational current draws from many sources. With a past as a traditional singer/songwriter and influences from the music of Bon Iver and James Blake, even venturing into techno and neo classic minimalism at times.

Head Under Water is also one half of the collaborative duo Komplement, that toured with Icelandic poet Ásgeir in 2019.
