Call Center Rapper – James A.R. Andreson

James A.R. Anderson is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer, currently based out of the New York, NY area. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, he has always had a keen interest in the world of comedy, but began performing live around eight years ago.
Comedy has always been a major part of James’ life. As a kid, he was always in search of laughs, and describes himself as the one telling jokes at the bus stop. Later in life he went on to study psychology at Miami University before switching gears and deciding to follow his passion for entertainment full time. He has since studied comedy and writing through Chicago’s Second City as well as New York City’s Comedy Cellar and Laughing Buddha Comedy.
James has a passion for bringing joy to others, and he does this through sharing a mix of personal narrative, life reflections, and situational anecdote and is able to mix in the occasional character in a fresh way that is able to draw an audience in and make them forget their troubles for a time. He views comedy as a form of therapy; something that the world doesn’t know it needs but that people instinctually seek. Everybody is looking for that thing that will make them forget for a while about the bills piling up, or the ailing loved one, or just the humdrum monotony of life, and Anderson believes that with his performances, he can deliver that relief while on stage.
Starting out performing within the Columbus, Ohio area, mostly out of a venue called The Funnybone, he soon began taking his show to as many cities as possible. Thus far he has performed coast to coast in top comedy venues, to date including NYC’s Carolines on Broadway, the Comedy Cellar, and Flappers Comedy Club in Los Angeles, CA, with plans to take his performances international in the near future. His work has been featured within Columbus Underground magazine, Bounce TV and currently he has a stand up comedy EP entitled “Carpe Noctem” available on most major streaming outlets including iTunes, Spotify, Tidal and Amazon. He can be found across social media under the handle ‘JamesARanderson,’ and on YouTube under ‘jamesarcomedian’.
